Sovos CertManager

Problem

Businesses have customers that are sales tax exempt (such as non-profits and religious organizations) and must ensure that they are not collecting sales tax from them. Sellers need an efficient and simple way to make sure they only exempt customers when appropriate, and keep track of exemptions for audit purposes. If companies do not do their due diligence with this, they could potentially be liable to state, city, and local regulatory agencies for significant financial penalties.

Solution

Sovos CertManager is a SaaS product that simplifies sales tax exemption management for businesses across multiple market types.

CertManager empowers Sovos customers by providing the means to store and apply exemption certificates, as well as offering tools to communicate with their customers about their exemptions. CertManager also integrates with Sovos’ Global Tax Determination (“GTD”) product, which calculates tax rates and liabilities as part of filing in the United States and abroad and applies exemptions for tax reporting purposes.
